So I was aimlessly browsing around the Warrior Forum and I came across a sales page for a niche site that listed the Belcher Button as a feature. I’d never heard of it before, but after conducting a quick image search on Google I quickly recognized the Belcher Button as the big orange Add To Cart button I see on many sales pages.
According to the sales page that set me off on this little quest for information, the Belcher Button is supposedly the highest converting button used on Internet sales pages. Now you know I had to look into this some more right?
So I do a regular search for the Belcher Button and I came up with this video from Perry Belcher, the mastermind behind the button:
I had heard of Perry Belcher before my research on the Belcher Button, but I only knew of him as a Google Adwords specialist, so I was surprised to discover he is also well-known for his copywriting ability.
I have long known about the importance of writing persuasive ad copy, but I am guilty of ignoring the “little things” like graphics. This video was a wake-up call for me and it’s proof that everything matters in copywriting.
In case you didn’t know, copywriting is the use of words to promote a person, business, opinion, or idea. Although many tend to limit it’s application to content in print, the term copywriter is generally applicable in all promotional situations, regardless of the medium. Therefore, copywriting skills can and should be applied in advertisements for print, television, radio or other media.
In online marketing, copywriting is applied in article marketing, video marketing, social networking, and on sales pages. If you are going to be involved in Internet marketing of any kind, I recommend you start reading up on persuasion, so you can apply it in your copywriting and ultimately make more money from your online marketing efforts.

I receive the absolute maximum reward via my articles and other content by employing social book-marking and social networks. Now when I upload articles to EZA or Buzzle or where ever I simultaneously promote it on bebo, fb along with Posterous then I save it with a couple of book-marking sites including Folkd and Diigo. Because I’ve been working on this I’ve seen my article visits shoot up by upwards of 140%
Your site here rocks. More of good and pro stuff, like this, publishing will get you a lot of daily users. You just got one more.
Wow… I thought this was a joke at first, until I watched the video.
Yes, I have seen that “Belcher Button” on numerous websites. I had no idea that I was being psychologically corraled into buying something.
This video would fit in well with all of that “Hypnotic Selling” schtick.
Not sure if I “buy” all the psychological triggers that this button is supposed to invoke in me when I’m on a sales page.
And by the way, everyone in the universe knows that the “price drop” highlighted above the buy button is a simple sales gimmick… but we somehow buy anyway.
Hmmm… are we buying because of the fake price drop, or in spite of it?
