Many new Internet marketers struggle with deciding which format to use for their website. A squeeze page or a content site.
A squeeze page is a single lead generating page enticing visitors to subscribe to a mailing list. It consists of a headline, a sub headline, and some benefits as to why a person should opt-in.

A site using the squeeze page format, may contain other pages, but a visitor will not be allowed to access them prior to opting in to the mailing list.. And the information is usually distributed gradually via an autoresponder.

A content page, on the other hand, consists of numerous pages packed with helpful information. Unlike squeeze pages, the content is made freely available for visitors to access without condition.

As a rule of thumb, if you are only marketing affiliate products or your own products, it is probably best to use a squeeze page, because it takes an average of 5-7 exposures before a person decides to buy your products.

On the other hand, if you are primarily looking to make money with Google Adsense, than a content site is probably best because you are looking to make a quick profit off of the click from free search engine traffic.

Search engines tend to favor content sites, so the only real way to profit from Google Adsense is with a content site that receives tons of free search engine traffic.

However, you should still capture what traffic you can, because it will be good for future clicks and can also be used to generate traffic to any affiliate programs or products you might also be promoting in conjuction with Google Ads.

A content site is what typically comes to mind at the mention of the word website. A content site is a website with multiple pages that contain information via articles, videos, or some other type of content.
Content sites use to be the standard until marketers figured out that it was more profitable to use a single lead generation page to capture traffic and follow-up with visitors in order to effectively market their products and services.

Now a days, conetent sites are primarily used for generating income from Google Adsense. This is because, Adsense sites rely on free search engine traffic to obtain clicks, and the search engines favor content sites.

Google Adsense typically pays less than a dollar per click, so it makes good business sense toattract free search engine traffic using lots of content-filled pages, in order to make a decent income from Google Adsense.

In order to pull this off, you need to learn some simple search engine optimization or SEO techniques. SEO is simply the process of doing things to (and for) your webpages to meet the search engines demands.

When you give the major search engines (Google, MSN, Yahoo) what they want, they will give you what you want…better search engine rankings which result in more traffic to your site.
If you will be setting up a content site, it is recommended you include a mailing list opt-in form on every web page, so you can capture as much traffic as possible which will be good for future clicks.
