Autoresponder + List Building + Email Marketing = Long Term Profits
That’s the secret formula for consistent long-term cash flow. It’s one of those lessons I learned a long time ago, but didn’t apply it until many years later, do to my reluctance to listen to those more successful than myself.
When I first started practicing Internet marketing, I read an ebook called Million Dollar Emails, which explained the importance of using an auto-responder to build a responsive mailing list.
From this ebook, I learned that 98% will leave your sales page without buying, and that it takes an average of 5-7 exposures to an offer before a person will make a decision to buy.
With an auto-responder, you can capture leads and follow-up via automatic email communication to build trust and gain sales further down in your sales funnel, from visitors who would have otherwise have left your website, never to return again, and without making a purchase.
So the strategy is to get them on your mailing list first, then promote your products after you have them on your list. This way, even if they don’t buy your first offer, you can follow-up with additional offers in the near future.
This is exactly how the gurus do it. They have these massive lists of thousands of subscribers and when they have a new product launch, they simply send out a series of email broadcasts to their opt-in email list resulting in a 4, 5, or even 6 figure pay day!
At first I thought I could get by without a mailing list, but after years of struggling, I now realize that mailing lists are your stability and long-term income because it virtually connects you and your products to your customer base.
I have made immediate sales after broadcasting affiliate offers to small lists of only a couple thousand, so I can only imagine how profitable email marketing would be if I built my list larger.
A small business can not afford to spend time and/or money generating traffic that does not convert and like I said, it takes 5-7 exposures for a single offer, so you need that automatic email communication to convert your leads.
If you are not using email marketing in your online business, go sign up for an Aweber autoresponder account today, start building your list, and begin your email marketing campaign.
The technical aspects of email marketing go beyond the scope of this post. For now, you can simply follow the instructions provided on Aweber, but be looking out for more posts about autoresponders, list building, and email marketing.
